I finally started building brick raised beds for my garden. While I’m excited to get started, it’s turning into quite the project! Pictured above is 1cu yard of organic raised bed soil that I purchased to use, and while I knew it would be a lot it turned out to be WAY more than I need! My self imposed deadline for completing the beds is by the end of next week, that way I’ll still have time to plant broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower, which, according to Let’s Grow Veggies can be planted in my area within the next couple of weeks. Whatever soil is left after I build two beds and fill my pots will be used to plant in the front yard or perhaps I can find someone to barter with on Craigslist. I’ll be sure to update when I’m done with my first bed.
